Getting to know me blog hop

Hi there - I have something a little different to share with you today as I have been tagged in the 'getting to know you blog hop' by my lovely friend and fellow aussie Cathy from cathy's card spot. Thank you so much Cathy for inviting me to join in the fun on the hop and for your kind words about my cards. Let's get started shall we.....

Question 1:What are you currently working on?
This is an easy question....like many of you out there I am working away on my Christmas cards in the hope of being organised for once and not rushing around at the last minute. Work gets crazy for me in December so I really try to have everything ready to go before the madness starts:)

Question 2: What inspires your designs?
The ideas for my cards mostly come from challenge themes but I also get inspired by other crafty blogs and I just love pinterest. Quite often for me it's a combination of different challenges that result in the finished card.

Question 3: What process/method do you use and how long does a card take?
I really have no method at all to making cards....sometimes I play around with stamps and sentiments until an idea strikes. I rarely plan cards in advance or make sketches - I just design as I go. In saying that though I am always pulling cards apart and changing them around so maybe some forward planning would be helpful at times! Cards can take me a few hours or all day depending on how inspired I am and how much time I have.

Question 4: Describe your signature style
I would love to say my style is purely 'clean and simple' but I do like to try lots of other styles at times and I love playing with inks and trying new techniques.

Question5: What three craft products can't you live without?
This is an easy question for me and hardly required any thought at all

1. My bigshot machine - I love it and use it constantly
2. My fiskars sure-cut trimmer - Hardest working tool in my craft room
3. My Distress inks - I totally love these inks - they are the first inks that I ever got and I still use them the most today

Here is a peek into my crafty space (yes - I am very organised:)
My craft room is small but it's all mine and I love it!

Thanks so much for visiting me today - I look forward to seeing more people on the hop in the future - hugs Karen xx

A lovely post, Karen and a great peek at your super organised craft room! I would need to tidy up for a month to be able to take a photo like that :)

Great post, Karen, nice to read more about you and your creative process. I'd have to tidy up for six months (and build an extension!) before my craft space looked like yours!

No wonder we hit it off way back when, Karen! You must have grinned from ear-to-ear the first time you saw my sparkling clean Playhouse desk! I know I sure smiled at your neat and beautifully organized craft space just now! It was also a joy to read your interview with yourself and picture you as you create your sensational cards!! Ok, not stalking you, but loved the sneak peek of your craft room. Your space looks very similar to mine, albeit more organised. 😄I use a corner of a multi-purpose room, and have A very similar layout. Love how your papers are all above on shelves. Thanks for sharing.
